Fall

Fall is a blaze of color that makes you want to sit and stare at each leaf as it falls from the tree.  The downside is that even though the sun shines brightly in the afternoon, it is usually too cold to sit outside long enough to watch that leaf fall to the ground. But on a drive or sitting bundled up a top the stands of a football stadium you can see the majesty of this season that God has created.  

What have we been doing this fall?

Winterizing the boat is a process that currently has to be overseen by Howard.  He remembers every little step that we forget from year to year.  Winterizing the boat also means we say goodbye to the Lake until spring.  

Marching Band consumes our schedules (well, Keith's more than mine) with practices, Friday night football games and Saturday competitions. These 150 kids work so tirelessly from July through November, it is hard not to fall in love every single one of them.

Columbus State Service Day was a day filled with ... um, service.  All classes were cancelled in order for faculty, staff, and students to serve community partners (Morning Rally seen above).  I went to First English Lutheran Church to help clean their child care room, kitchen and banquet room.  The church has weekly tutoring and serves meals to the community on Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings. 

Larkyn has lots of energy.  Somedays she has so much that she cannot even take a nap.  So this lucky godmother was able to meet with Stacie and Larkyn at the park for some outdoor fun ...and lots of counting.
