Visitors for Baby

This month there was supposed to be a blogpost of Opening Weekend with the Cleveland Indians...

Then this was us two Sundays ago after watching Bubba Watson win the Masters...

And before we knew it, we had a daughter. April 15th, 2014 was the day that God had planned for Eva Joy to enter the world. She loves life (and eating and sleeping) and she loves all the visitors. Everyday of her life, so far, has included at least one visitor, so we consider ourselves quite blessed.

Some friends like Ruth. Kirsten, Brad, Colin, and Stacie, didn't get a photo but they were congratulatory, kind, and helpful. We are so thankful for the cards, well wishes, prayers, phone calls, texts, emails, meals and packages. We know God has surrounded us with people who truly care about us and our new family. Look at what some friends are willing to bring a mom in recovery...

Meeting Rhys

Rhys (sounds like Reese) came to visit yesterday. 

He is quite the little man. He came in his little baseball outfit and was so good. I could have stared at him or held him all day.  I am so glad Stacie came, too, especially since Rhys can't drive yet... or walk... or feed himself, but mostly because we got to catch up. I am so thankful to have a friend that loves hot chocolate, has two wonderful kids, always knows the latest celebrity news, loves going to breakfast, is into houses and house decor, and doesn't mind talking about labor and delivery.  They are both welcome any time. When the weather warms up we can do something fun with big sister, Larkyn, and the TWO little babies! 

April Showers...

It is April and it is raining, so April showers seemed like a fitting title for this post but I am really eager to share the fun that was had at, my cousin, Kathryn's baby shower ... which was actually the last weekend in March.

The shower was lovely. It was a very comfortable party of friends and family at Aunt Anita's house. We enjoyed many games, lots of activities, cups of coffee, a variety of quiche and good conversation. (Great-) Grandma Ruff made the most delicious chocolate cake and carrot cake in anticipation of the little boy OR little girl that Kathryn will have in May. Aunt Anita prayed aloud for Kathryn and Matt as they become godly, shepherding parents. As my godmother, she also prayed for me and Keith- for our baby, for our delivery, and God's guidance as we become parents. God's love truly surrounded the event.
