Boat + Water = Adventure

With a little (aka: a lot) of help from our good friend Christin, we finally took our boat out on Lake Erie!
The launch went well, even though Julie was quite nervous about backing the boat down the ramp. Zip zap and it was in the water. Boating out of Ashtabula Harbor was relaxing and fun as we read every name on the back of the docked boats. We also had our handy Ohio Boating Manual to tell us which side of the buoys we should have been on. Oops, silly novices! Once we got out to Lake Erie, it was a little (aka: a lot) more choppy than we thought. Well, that was no good for motion sick Julie. Christin and Keith were navigating on their own until we anchored at Olive Drive Beach for some recuperation time. The water calmed down enough later in the afternoon to head back to the harbor and bring her in.

  1. I can't believe you backed a BOAT down a RAMP. Wait, I remember who I am talking to and realize that you are my only friend who would naturally be able to do such a thing. Wahoo--you are real boaters. Too bad you didn't get the boat before the wedding, then your vows could have been like the Wedding Crashers vows.
